Many systemic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and arthritis have significant ocular side effects which if detected early can be managed and treated before they become sight threatening.

Many people wait until they notice a vision change or break there glasses before seeking care, however many of these coditions have no outward symptoms. Our eyes go through many changes as we grow and change from infancy into the senior years. We spend hours reading, working on computers,driving, playing sports, but only seem to pay attention to our eyes when they are bothering us. I think we should take a more proactive role in keeping our eyes as healthy as they can be for our lifetime.
